Any decent Seattle fan, and a few state fans maybe, know all about the Huskies romp of Florida in the Women's College World Series of softball, winning the series 2-0. Most of them know all about Daniel Lawrie being the Collegiate Player of the Year in softball.
But, it is still customary that local bloggers wrap it up.
Yes, you can stop pinching yourselves, or if you're not, you can stop ignoring it for fear of the Huskies blowing it, they have claimed the championship, winning over the Florida Gators 8-0 and 3-2. Daniel Lawrie had two great games in the pitcher's circle, and I got to pay attention to softball for the first time ever. So don't expect any wise insight, just a congrats to the Husky softball team.
Washington became the fifth school from the Pac-10 to claim a WCWS title.
