Arizona State is traveling up to Seattle for a Pac-10 showdown with Washington. These two teams are currently tied in the loss column for #1 in the Pac-10, meaning that this game will decide who takes the lead for the Pac-10 regular-season title, and essentially decide who wins it. Both teams have fairly easy conference schedules to end out their season, and Washington will eventually take on Seattle University as well.
Both of these teams are going to come out pumped, but one thing that will decide the game will be what Washington team will come out of the tunnel tonight. Will it be the Huskies who turn the ball over and fail to get to the foul line? Or will it be the Huskies who drive to the basket and make defensive plays that impress everyone in the pavillion? That's what the Huskies need to focus on. This paradox makes this game all but unpredictable until about five minutes in. Lorenzo Romar will have his big men out on the floor tonight, most likely, so don't expect to see too much of Isaiah Thomas. Jon Brockman will need to get open at the post and attack the rim. Justin Dentmon and Quincy Pondexter will both need to do some serious playmaking.
Final Score: ASU, 79-76.
